Pain Management

Do you struggle with migraines or tension headaches? Or do you suffer from chronic low back pain or sciatica? Have you had a recent injury that you need help rebounding from? Acupuncture does wonders for reducing inflammation and easing pain.

Mental Health

Depression, anxiety, PTSD, sleep issues, and chronic stress are rampant in our modern society. Living with personal & ancestral traumas and systems of inequity is tough stuff. Acupuncture can help regulate the central nervous system and calm the mind.

Allergies & Autoimmunity

Don’t feel like you need to just suffer with seasonal allergies! We can help reduce sinus congestion, post-nasal drip, and sinus headaches. Likewise, if you have an autoimmune condition, like Hashimotos thyroiditis, RA, Lupus, or MS, acupuncture can be highly supportive.

Digestive Issues

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes in health promotion and disease prevention through gut health. If you have IBS/IBD, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, diverticulitiis, or abdominal pain, acupuncture, herbs, and diet can make all the difference.

Reproductive Health

We can help with reproductive health issues, such as PCOS, endometriosis, PMS, menstrual irregularities, and infertility, along with sexual health challenges, like erectile dysfunction, reduced libido, and low testosterone. We also specialize in pregnancy and post-partum care.

Pediatrics

Children respond so quickly & positively to acupuncture! Acupuncture can work wonders for childhood eczema, asthma, allergies, and food sensitivities. We can also help with behavioral disorders, like ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and PANS/PANDAS.

Philosophy & Approach

Sustenance. Shelter. Community.

Everyone has a right to feel safe, supported, and tended to, especially when they’re healing. Oak & Well Acupuncture offers a sanctuary of sorts, from the trials and stressors of the everyday for folks in Port Townsend and surrounding areas.

Sustenance. Grounded in our commitment to nurturing people from all walks of life, we respectfully use traditional medical knowledge to help folks feel nourished and to live long and live well.

Shelter. Creating a safe haven for our rural community, we help people recover, recoup, and rest. Like the shade cast by an oak tree in the woodland, we provide a calming refuge for transformation.

Community. We offer a quiet gathering place to connect with yourself and others. As it happens at wells and waterways, we co-create a meeting space for healing and cleansing.

Affordable Rural Healthcare for All

We value inclusiveness and accessibility in healthcare. As a small town clinic in a rural community on the Olympic Peninsula we feel it is our responsibility to make our services available to all those who seek them.

As part of our mission, we offer a unique and innovative model of care that is tailored to the needs of working class people. In our cash-based practice you can pay full & customary rates for acupuncture OR join our membership program to receive reduced rates on treatments OR take part in our innovative Community-Supported Acupuncture (CSA) program for low-income or under-served folks. There is something for everyone.

We believe that the modern healthcare system is woefully inadequate and failing to meet the needs of the majority of people. Our intention is to change the current paradigm, and offer accessible rural healthcare for all people in the Port Townsend, Chimacum, Quilcene, Port Ludlow, and Sequim areas.

Healing for People and Place

We take an ecological approach in all that we do. We’re keenly interested in supporting local people and local places. In this vein, we open our doors to all community members of the Olympic Peninsula, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, body type, or uniqueness.

Likewise, we warmly support local herbalists, farmers, healers, and helpers in the Chimacum Valley at our clinic. We happily offer a venue for locally-sourced teas, tinctures, and plant medicines, while at the same time encouraging conversation and referrals with other local healthcare practitioners.

And whenever possible, we use sustainable, ecologically-minded materials and tools in our work. We are sensitive to the need for greater environmental and social responsibility, and strive to show respect for these lands and waterways.

What Folks Are Saying

When I started working with Sean I didn’t realize I would be getting so much more than acupuncture. He introduced me to the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine and herbalism and gave me a new way of approaching my chronic illness that has had a huge impact on my quality of life.

He has a wealth of knowledge to share, with a gift for making it accessible and actionable.  Not to mention being a genuinely caring and wonderful human being. We are fortunate to have him in our community.

Joanna T.

At 26 years old I had been plagued by ovulation pain for the better part of a decade. Going in to see Sean as a skeptic and not expecting any results, my condition improved within the first month! By the second month I had virtually no pain and no longer needed to be chained to over-the-counter pain killers.

On my initial consultation and treatment I was admittedly a bit nervous talking to Sean about female reproductive issues, but I can honestly say no practitioner has made me feel more comfortable and cared for.

He was so welcoming, informative and warm – a big change from the medical practitioners I had experienced in the past. He explained the process to me easily and made sure I understood everything. His confidence was as reassuring as his obvious concern and sincerity.

Rachel V.

After years of struggling with painful illness, failed conventional treatments, and indifferent doctors I found relief in the care of Sean. He has patiently administered acupuncture supported by thousands of years of evidence, but his competence as an educator is what makes him uniquely qualified.

My recovery has only been possible because of skills taught by Sean like adjunct yoga, self-administered acupressure, food medicine, and herbal remedies.

Most importantly, Sean has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and is clearly genuine in his commitment to each of his patients. If you are searching for help, for a change, or a chance to learn extraordinary wisdom I can only recommend Sean.
